Miller Park Event Center. The mission of the Cobb County International Festival is to celebrate Cobb's diverse culture through food, entertainment and arts. Last year's International Festival was a big success, widely attended, and well received by the business and local community. We look forward to seeing all Cobb seniors at this FREE event. David Blake, a forensic Specialist from the Division of Aging Services, GA Department of Human Services will give overview of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving vulnerable and at-risk adults, the laws in Georgia relating to abuse, the different agencies that respond and where to report suspected abuse.
We are expected to have over 80 vendors - 25 of which will be services and products specifically relevant to older adults. The Senior Citizen Council is collaborating with the Gary Hill Network, a networking organization that has been promoting local businesses in Cobb for decades. The Senior Citizen Council of Cobb celebrates National Senior Citizens Day. Each year SCC holds a celebratory award luncheon on National Senior Citizens Day. The awardees are presented with a proclamation of Life Achievement issued and presented by a Cobb County Commissioner. The celebration includes lunch, music and entertainment for the attendees. PLEASE register by August 31 so we get an accurate food count.
